Michael Block is an active freelance trumpet player with the Livonia Symphony Orchestra. He was invited in 2015 to perform at the International Trumpet Guild Convention in Columbus, OH along with various other venues including The Grosse Pointe Theatre, Detroit Civic Winds as a Mentor/Instructor, as well as the Carhartt Amphitheater in Detroit.

Michael is a graduate of the trumpet studio at Eastern Michigan University during which time he earned a Bachelors degree while primarily with Professor Carter Eggers. Michael holds a Masters degree from Michigan State University, where he studied with Professor Rich Illman, Professor Etienne Charles and Professor Justin Emerich.

Michael currently resides with his  wife, Alyssa, in Whitmore Lake, MI where he successfully teaches private students throughout the greater metro Detroit area. As an active freelance trumpet player, he is available to perform at churches for weddings and other events, as well as pit orchestras, receptions, and other musical occasions.
